During Dove Week, CCM’s Amanda and Logan Sekulow were introduced to Johnny B, who was a guest host on the Christian Music Guys Podcast. If you meet Johnny you’ll immediately clock, “Oh, this guy’s different!” Who else is making throwback worship music? His latest release is intentionally that way as the song in collaboration with Nineties Worship Night.
“I Give You My Heart,” out now is a new take on the classic song by Darlene Zschech, featuring Crossroads Creative from Crossroads Church of Douglasville, Georgia.
Within seconds of hitting play, you can hear the 90s. A few seconds in he lets out a full-on Backstreet Boys–level “yeaaahhh,” and somehow it lands. Johnny B has spent nearly two decades in full-time ministry, including time as a guitarist and worship leader with Eddie James, roles in youth and music ministry in Orlando, and later mentoring students as a youth pastor and music professor at Valor Christian College. These days, he’s based in Atlanta with his wife Natalie and their two kids, still leading worship and still experimenting a bit.
Johnny puts it simply: “My goal has always been to lead people into the presence of God, whether through a song, a story, or a moment of worship.”
Beyond the music, Johnny B has built a big online. His social content racked up over 25 million views in 2025, thanks to his funny, self-aware takes on Christian and church culture. The humor never punches down or turns mean-spirited, it feels more like an inside joke for people who’ve grown up in the pews and know the quirks, the language, and the moments all too well.
Bottom line, Johnny B is worth a follow and a listen.
