BODIE LAUNCHES CHRISTIAN ALT-ROCK FESTIVAL… and we’re here for it!

Nearly a year ago, when we first took over CCM Magazine, I started talking out loud about the future of Christian music, the one I could see forming just over the horizon. I said it plainly. Mark my words. In a year, we’re going to be talking about guitar-driven rock bands again. A lot of people laughed. Some rolled their eyes when I suggested that the GMA should establish a rock commission. The response was simple. Show us the evidence. I’m looking at you, Justin Fratt… here it is.

Not only is this a fresh-faced group of artists, it’s being ushered in by one of the most genre-bending, creative, and unpredictable artists in Christian music right now: BODIE.

Bodie is officially launching Lovesick Fest, a full-blown self-described Christian alt-rock festival.

“I’ve been dreaming of having my own musical festival for over ten years now, and it’s finally happening,” Bodie says. “If you love alt rock music and Jesus, I hope you’re wearing a diaper , because you’re probably gonna pee all over yourself after hearing this.”

And honestly? He’s not wrong…

Lovesick Fest exists to ignite hearts with good music and a clear invitation to encounter Jesus. It’s a Christian alt-rock festival built with intention, urgency, and the kind of creative edge that feels like a throwback and a warning shot at the same time. Christian rock isn’t limping back. It’s kicking the door open.

And where else would this movement land?

Orange County, California, ground zero for “youth group culture” of the ’90s Christian punk and alt-rock explosion, The same region that also helped shape the entire Contemporary Christian Music genre during the Jesus Movement is once again hosting the next chapter.

Lovesick Fest goes down Friday, February 13th in Irvine, CA.

The lineup is stacked with artists who are shaping what Christian rock looks like right now. String & Heart, Bodie, Gracie Binion, Hopeful, and Isly. If some of those names are new to you, now’s the time to get familiar. Or better yet, ask your kids.

Early bird tickets are on sale now at lovesickfest.com and if the energy around this announcement is any indication, they won’t last long.

So yeah, thank you, Bodie. Thank you, Lovesick Fest. And to everyone who laughed a year ago when we said Christian rock was coming back?

We tried to tell you.

Christian rock will never die.

For Brandon Heath, Christmas doesn’t begin with a quiet moment.
