An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, he currently serves as Pastor of Sunnyside Reformed Church in New York City and is the founder and Executive Director of DevOUT, a nonprofit challenging far-right religious narratives in digital and traditional media. Known widely as the “TikTok Pastor,” his digital reach has grown to nearly 300,000 followers and over 10 million views engaging with his accessible, inclusive theological content.
Robertson is the author or editor of more than twenty-seven books, including the acclaimed True Inclusion: Creating Communities of Radical Embrace, an INDIES Book of the Year finalist. His writings have appeared in TIME Magazine, NBC, The Washington Post, and more. He is also a columnist for Baptist News Global and Progressing Spirit, and his commentary is regularly featured across global media platforms like CNN, NPR, and MSNBC.
